Sherry Dawson, who suffers from aphasia, is forced to marry Regis Quinn, the son of the richest man in town, to save her bankrupted family. Soon, she discovers the Quinns are connected to her mother's death. Bound by a marriage contract, Sherry and Regis start out wary of each other, but gradually build trust as they work together to uncover the truth.
